Greetings, friends and fiends!
The holidays and real-life crap conspired to swaddle me in a mild coma, preventing me from putting up a blog article every week, but I managed to squeeze out three of them!
Midwinter Gaming Con
I look forward to Midwinter every year. It kicks the year off right with a small but mighty convention in a hotel attached to an indoor water park in Pewaukee, WI. I get to see some friends I haven't seen since Gamehole Con in October, and play some fun TTRPGs. I highly recommend it. Consider it next year. We need more TTRPG players. It's a rare con where there's a surplus of GMs.

The Sorcerer's Return is in the mail!
You can pick up The Sorcerer's Return here, or the PDFs are available on DriveThruRPG and itch.io.

Upcoming cons
Polar Vortex
February 13 - 25, 2026 | Lisle, IL
This will be my second year at Polar Vortex. Last year was great! It's a small con very close to my home in Chicago, but it packs in a lot of awesome games. Pathfinder and D&D dominate the TTRPG offerings, but there are a healthy number of DCC games, and last year, even some Neon Lords of the Toxic Wasteland. I'm running a few playtests for Mutant Spawn of the Toadmother—two for 5E and one for DCC. Then I'm rounding things off on Sunday with a battle-royal session of Car Wars Classic.

Gary Con
March 19 - 22, 2026 | Lake Geneva, WI
One of my favorite cons every year. Lots to do, lots to see, and if you are of a mind, lots of Spotted Cow to drink. Personally, I total the tee, but you do you. The Grand Geneva, formerly the Lake Geneva Playboy Club Hotel (misname-dropped as the Playboy Mansion), is pretty swank—it always smells like cologne. I will be running a ton of games, and I'm getting help from a friend. Of the 10 Nerdonomicon events on the schedule, I'm running 6 of them, but have no fear. You are in good hands either way.
Look for all of the “Sorcerer's” games, Mutant Spawn of the Toadmother (DCC RPG), Basilisk (Mothership), and, of course, Car Wars Classic.

Upcoming projects
Mutant Spawn of the Toadmother
Things are ramping up for Mega Dungeon Month, Castle Whiterock, and Mutant Spawn of the Toadmother. The writing is coming along, and I will start playtesting both the 5E and DCC RPG games at Polar Vortex next month.
It is a punishingly fun descent into the bowels of the earth. Think Aliens or C.H.U.D. (definitely more on the C.H.U.D. side).
We're five followers away from 200! Please sign up to follow the campaign here: https://bit.ly/4qzHIGd. If you do, you'll get a FREE DCC RPG PDF pamphlet hex-crawl funnel!
The Sorcerer's Conundrum
Part three of the “Sorcerer's” series, a level-2 zine for DCC RPG, has been thoroughly playtested and is being written and illustrated over the next few months. Look for it to crowdfund in June of 2026.
The Sorcerer's Slumber
Part four of the “Sorcerer's” series, a level-3 zine for DCC RPG, is currently being playtested. You can sign up to be part of it at Gary Con. In this adventure, the characters must navigate the mad sorcerer's dreams and nightmares to free him from a demon that has invaded his subconscious. Think Psychonauts or Dreamscape, maybe a little The Magnus Archives.
At the Bürgermeister's Behest & The Arrogance of Husbandry
Each of the “Sorcerer's” series is intended as a one-shot that progresses through levels zero to five. Since some folks might want to do things the Right Way™, I decided to make some supplements for judges who wish to use XP leveling. To that end, I am creating three pamphlet adventures that will span the XP gap between The Sorcerer's Conundrum and The Sorcerer's Slumber. They can be run as one-shots, or taken together, they tell the story of a visit to the town of Aufgebläht to procure winter supplies. The first, Aufgebläht or Bust, was available as part of DCC Day 2025 and is available in the Nerdronomicon shop. If you sign up to follow Mutant Spawn of the Toadmother on Backerkit, you can get a free copy of the PDF. I plan to have parts two and three done and available as add-ons for the crowdfunding campaign for The Sorcerer's Conundrum.
Basilisk
This one is a bit of a departure from my DCC RPG grimdark fantasy catalogue. Basilisk is an adventure zine for the sci-fi horror game Mothership. It is a mind-bending horror scenario with multiple narrative layers that submerge players in a world where reality is, at best, untrustworthy and, at worst, deadly. If you like feeling your grip on reality slip away, this one is for you. I hope to have it ready for Mothership Month 2026.

The Herculoids
Controversial opinion: The Herculoids are superior to Thundar the Barbarian.
Artist Spotlight: Aubrey Beardsley
Breaking from the Métal Hurlant/Heavy Metal crowd, this time we'll be looking at Art Nouveau/Jugendstil artist Aubrey Beardsley
That is all.
